C.D.W./L.D.W. is not insurance. It is an optional product wherein the rental company waives its right to collect from the Renter for damages caused to the rental vehicle except for any amount found on the face of the rental agreement, which is the Renters responsibility. ALL WAIVERS WILL BE VOID IF THE TERMS OF THE RENTAL AGREEMENT ARE VIOLATED. ¿ WRITTEN PROOF¿ If Renter wishes to decline C.D.W./L.D.W. and rely on their own personal insurance, THE RENTER MUST PROVIDE PROOGF IN THE FORM OF AN INSURANCE DECLARATION PAGE, SPECIFICALLY STATING COMPREHENSIVE AND COLLISION COVERAGE IS EFFECTIVE AND ENFORCED FOR THE DURATION OF THE RENTAL AGREEMENT (this also applies to the coverage that may be provided through credit card companies and third party companies that will be used at the time of rental). An insurance declaration page is the document that defines your coverage and limits. Insurance cards WILL NOT satisfy the requirement to provide an insurance declaration page for self-insurance. The minimum coverage limits that we will accept for self-insurance are $25,000 / $50,000 / $25,000. If no written proof is available customers will be required to purchase C.D.W./L.D.W. When C.D.W./L.D.W. is declined, if the car is stolen or damaged, the renter is responsible for its retail fair market value before theft or damage less salvage. Economy Rent A Car reserves the right and at its discretion to accept personal vehicle insurance at the time of rental. Please check at the rental counter for further information.
