  Additional Drivers

Additional driver charge is $5.00 per day with a maximum of 3 additional drivers.

  Age

The minimum age of the renter or any additional driver must be 18. Drivers age 18-24 may rent a vehicle for an additional charge of $6.50 per day with higher L.D.W deductible. No additional charges will apply if renter is over the age of 24.

  Cancellation

Customers who fail to cancel their reservation from the source it was booked, at least with 24 hours prior of the pick up time, or do not show up for their reservation are subject to a charge of $ 25 USD or one day rental charge, whichever is higher.

  Debit Cards

Debit cards are permitted for deposit and payment. However Economy requires the purchase of CDW, SLI and prepaid fuel. Once the vehicle is returned the deposit or its remaining will be refunded. Although it may take up to 30 business days for your account to reflect the refund, Economy Rent a Car accepts VISA, MASTER CARD AND AMEX credit cards. No one other than the person named on the credit card may use that credit card for the deposit. The card holder must be present at the time of rental.

  Drivers License

Renter must present a valid driver license at the time of rental. Foreign renters must present a valid driver license and a valid passport and based on the date of the entry stamp, will be allowed to rent a vehicle for up to 90 days, present at time of rental.

  Emergency Info

(ERA) is an optional product, this program will have a cost of 5.99/day. With ERA, key services (lost or locked in car), jump starts and gas service (in case you run out of gas) will be provided at no cost. If customer prefers not to purchase era then will be responsible for any *SERVICE FEES* in the event said customer requires any of the services listed above.

  Gas

Vehicle must be returned with same amount of fuel as rented to avoid a refueling service charge

  Geographic

Vehicles cannot be taken outside the country of Mexico. If you take the car out of Mexico, then it will be considered negligence and a penalty charge will apply, plus time and expenses.

  One-Way

There may be an additional charge for dropping off the vehicle at a different office. The drop off charge varies depending at which office you are renting from and which office you are returning the vehicle into.

  Optional Protection Products

L.D.W Loss damage waiver (collision and theft coverage) - is an optional product, that waives Economy Rent a Car right to collect from the renter over the deductible amount the Losses caused by collision damage repairs, theft and for vehicle total Loss due to unrepairable collision damages caused to the rental vehicle. L.D.W. 1 charge is $22 USD per day for all vehicles with 10% deductible for collision damages repairs and 20% deductible for theft and vehicle total Loss due to unrepairable collision damages. LDW 2 charge is $28 USD per day for all vehicles with a with 5% deductible for collision damages repairs and 10% deductible for theft and vehicle total Loss due to unrepairable collision damages. A deductible of 10% of the commercial value of the vehicle will be held on a guaranteed credit card as a deposit. This coverage does not covers tires and glass damaged outside events of collision if renter wishes to decline L.D.W. And rely on the their own personal insurance, the renter must provide written proof from their insurance company, specifically stating coverage is effective in the country of Mexico for the duration of the rental agreement. LDW will automatically be required and customer will be responsible for full value of the car and a 2,500.00 USD deposit applies. **T.P. - theft protection waiver is an optional service which, if accepted, reduces your financial liability for Loss of, or damage to the Economy Rent a Car vehicle due to theft or attempted theft, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. If tp is declined, you will be responsible for the full replacement value of the vehicle. T.P. Charge is $10 USD per day for all vehicles with 20% deductible. **M.D.W - minor damage waiver *- is an optional service which, if accepted, eliminates financial liability for damages under 4,000.00 on the following areas bumper dents, car scratches, and stolen car accessories, if vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.. Insurance is void if damages exceed 4,000.00 MXP. Customer must have a valid primary coverage for car collision in order to be able to use this insurance. M.D.W charge is $ 5 USD per day. **L.W liability waiver*- * is a waiver of Economy Rent a Car rent a cars right to charge the renter or renters for damages to third parties during the rental and is required unless the renters can provide written proof from their insurance company, specifically stating that their personal insurance will provide acceptable coverage in Mexico for up to 3,000,000.00 (three million) Mexican pesos according to the minimum amount required by the state. During the rental period and the renter can also provide a minimum security deposit of $2,500 USD. L.W. Limits charges for damages for injuries and third party properties to a 20 percent deductible and will also cover vehicle storage and administrative fees. L.W. Charges are $12.00 USD per day for all cars. **L.L.W - limited Loss waiver * - L.L.W. Is an optional product that will reduce the renters third party liability of L.W. To zero and also reduces customers legal expenses to zero. Customer must purchase L.W. from Economy Rent a Car prior to purchasing L.L.W. L.L.W. Charges for all vehicles - $4.00 USD per day.

  Payment

We accept all major credit cards and debit cards, **DEPOSIT** - The amount of the rent plus aminimum of $950 USD will be held in your card at the time of the rental, once the vehicle is returned thisdeposit will be released, this process can take 7 to 14 business days for credit cards and up to 30business days for debit cards. We also accept vouchers from travel agencies, cashdeposits, travelers checks, unembossed credit cards or debit cards will be subject to verification at themoment of the rental may be provided in us dollars during the reservation process.At the time of the rental, however, the local rental car counter in Mexico will assess the actual chargefor the rental in Mexican pesos, based on the currency conversion rate published the previous day by the bankof Mexico. The currency conversion rate fluctuates daily. Economy will not be responsible for bankingcharges due to the difference in the exchange rate when your bank convert the charges back to your creditcard currency. The rental location does not have any control over the exchange rate used by your creditcard company or any foreign transaction fees imposed by your credit card company.****CASH**** No cash deposits are allowed, however, payment in cash is accepted upon returned only inlocal currency. (Mexican pesos)

  Prepaid Reservations

If you have made a reservation you may pay on arrival however to make a reservation we will need a credit card to guarantee your vehicle. There may be an authorization on your Credit Card statement of USD$1.00 please be advised that a no show fee equivalent to a one day rental plus taxes with a minimum of USD$35.00 will be charged to the Credit Card. If vehicle is not pick up you can avoid this fee by cancelling your reservation through the same website you made it, you cannot call or write to cancel you can cancel only through the website where the reservation was made at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time. Prepaid reservations-if you have a prepaid reservation your Credit Card will be charged in full at the time you made your reservation. The Credit Card that you paid your reservation must be present at the time of pick up. Refund and cancellation policy-a prepaid reservation is a nonrefundable booking. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or credit. For customer satisfaction Economy will apply a refund for any of the reasons below-after verification- -flight cancelled and customer could not get to the rental location-natural disaster prevented travel- Illness prevented travel-death in family prevented travel-jury duty prevented travel-Economy was unable to fulfill the customer reservation (example no vehicle available) - Any action due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be advised that there may be a charge of up to USD$150.00 handling fee for canceling. If customer chooses to change the date of their reservation the handling fee will be waived but may be subject to a rate adjustment. For date change please contact 1 877 326 7368.   Reservation hold time

Vehicles are held for two hours after reserved arrival time. When flight details are provided, we will hold vehicle for up to two hours after flight arrival. In the event of delays, you may call or e-mail us to advice of any changes in your pick up time. After the two hour window, you will be considered a no-show and we may or may not be able to honor your reservation, depending upon availability.

  Rules

All waivers will be void if the terms of the rental agreement are violated. All of the products or waivers listed will become null and void in the event of negligence while driving or while in possession of the rental vehicle such as driving the vehicle across beaches, unpaved roads, rivers, etc, or driving under the influence of liquor, drugs or any other substance that could impair the drivers ability to operate the vehicle. Other negligent acts include, but are not limited to, leaving the keys in the ignition with the vehicle unattended, falling asleep while driving, ignoring traffic signals or police officers. By renting a vehicle from Economy Rent A Car and Economy Rent A Car affiliates, you hereby agree that any and all disputes and controversies arising out of your reservations and your rental of the vehicle shall be resolved solely and exclusively by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association.

  Shuttle

Thank you for choosing Economy Rent a Car represented by Grupo Astral. At arrival please call: 52-3316018375, 52-3372954847. After declaring your luggage from customs, proceed outside the Airport terminal and cross the street towards the airport parking lot and walk to the shuttle pickup located in front of the OXXO convenience store. An Economy representative will be waiting for you to arrange a shuttle transfer to the pickup location. Be sure that your entire luggage is with you after exiting the shuttle bus. Beware of illegal local agents trying to lure you into renting from them. These so called companies typically are nothing but agents personal cars without proper car rental insurances, license plates and legal registration. Economy Rent a Car is not responsible for any losses incurred as a result of renting from an illegal car rental agent. Important information: If you require invoice, please request at the time of the opening of your contract, otherwise we can not generate it. Economy Rent a Car is not responsible for expenses generated by traffic tickets. If you are going to Mexico City, remember that is a driver´s responsability to be informated about circulation policies and traffic regulations.

  KEYLESS_POLICIES

When you arrive at the rental office: • There is no need to go to the counter or kiosk. • Prepare to show the gate agent your reservation in the Skip The Counter app, your driver is license, and your credit card. • At the start time of your reservation chosen in the app, you will be assigned a license plate number. You can find the vehicle in our parking lot. • The keys are in the vehicle. Unlock the doors with the app, drive to the exit gate, and enjoy the service. This optional service is offered at certain offices. Please check if your office offers this service.
