Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) the renter or authorized driver is responsible for any damage to or loss of the rental vehicle up to the fair market value of the vehicle regardless of who is at fault in addition unless prohibited or limited by law. The renter or authorized drivers is responsible for the loss of use, administrative and diminishment of value if the renter purchase CDW allied agrees to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. To eliminate all or part of the renters responsibility for damage(s) to or loss of the rental vehicle, CDW is not insurance. In case of any claim, the renter is responsible for filing a police report at the time of the issue. If speed, drinking or negligent driving is the cause of the claim, CDW or LDW will be terminated and the customer will be responsible for the full value of the vehicle. You are responsible for loss or damage to rented vehicle even if someone else caused it or the cause is unknown. You are responsible for the cost of the repair(s) up to the value of the vehicle loss of use where allowed by law, towing, storage and impound fees. Your own insurance may cover all or part of your financial responsibility for the rented vehicle. Check with your insurance company to find out about your coverage. Allied Rent A Car will not hold you responsible if you buy CDW, but CDW will not protect you for loss or damage under certain prohibit events. In California, the purchase of CDW is not mandatory. If CDW is declined, a deposit will be required of up to the renters deductible car insurance plus the rental. If full coverage insurance is not supplied a deposit of up to $2,000 USD maybe required. The customer will have the option of calling his or her agent for verification at the counter. Quoted rate does not include insurance protection. International customers must have valid proof that their insurance will cover them while driving in the United States.
